Energy Efficiency-as-a-service venture validation with Engie
Industry: Utilities
Technology: Energy, Venture
Location: APAC

Brief
In line with its group strategy, Engie Factory, the venture arm of Engie Group, wanted to develop an Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service business.
Challenges
Rainmaking was asked to validate the opportunity by testing Desirability (Customer Demand), Feasibility (Product Fit) and Viability (P&L) over three months and to elaborate the value proposition in order to build this new venture.
Outcome
ProJoule, the venture validated by Rainmaking, offers Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service to the F&B industry in Asia and Australia. Energy Management Systems (EMS) are installed at no upfront cost to capture energy consumption data. Pilots so far have shown 10-40% of savings on energy bills. Projoule only gets paid when energy is saved for clients (the 3-year contract is built on 50% of the energy savings realized).
